So I won this artwork today in a raffle after I said I wanted to win it. It’s interesting looking at it now she appears a bit cracked and broken with things holding her together and I’m wondering why I wanted her.
So she has a baby and that speaks to me of the things that God trusts us with to look after. And the woman’s broken parts reminds me of this blogs title so I decided that is inspiration enough for a post.
This lady also has blue hair, I wonder why the artist painted her hair blue? Was it representative of her mood or the type of creative expression she was into?
Sometimes when people are a bit alternative or dress a little differently they get left out of the serious scenes but I have noticed a group of people being raised up specifically because they are different and that is actually what makes them so valuable.
The other day I met a girl with bright purple hair, if she hadn’t of had that hair I wouldn’t of noticed her and invited her to a gathering and we all would of missed out on the cool things that happened as a result.
Another possibly random thing that happened today was I dropped my phone which is not uncommon but I cracked the screen, really annoying but the phone still works even if it is a bit broken I can still use it and God can also still use broken people. Then I listened to a preaching that gave an illustration of a girls phone breaking and how she could still be joyful regardless of the things that do or don’t happen around her because of what was in her heart.
So being that I know he can and does want to take us on a journey of healing our brokenness what are some ways we can work with him on that?
1st thought is allow him to love us and be open to that experience, I have so many amazing stories of the lengths he has gone to to show me how much he loves me.
2nd thought is learn how to deal with the wounds of the world with the strategies he gives us so that we can be stronger and last longer before we feel another hit. Being a highly sensitive creative sometimes I find this difficult as I feel the world intensely but there are some boundaries we can put in place to limit the fallout. Being able to remain sensitive enough to hear from him and minister to those we feel led to but still be able protect our heart from areas the enemy might like to use to pull us down.
3rd thought is start looking for and expecting the see the good in people and circumstances which can be a lot easier said then done when you are used to expecting things to not work out.
And letting his opinion of us be more important then the opinion of others which can change based on their emotions and circumstances.
I was so disturbed by an article in the Guardian recently, where a writer put down Jim Carrey for expressing a faith journey through art. Jim Carrey has poured his creativity into making others laugh for many years, most creative people express themselves through multiple art forms at various times of their life and because they are usually highly sensitive they are either hearing from God or on a journey to hearing him expressed through their art. This persons writing makes me think of a restrictive spirit that wants to crush others so it can look better and those kinds of words are what contribute to people feeling broken.
This girl in the picture also reminds me a bit of a robot with the connecting parts on her and the other night I was watching a futuristic movie that showed a group that programmed people on earth to see a bad future where the world was destroyed so that they would try and change but that programming just made them create ways of packaging the doom to suit themselves. The plot is probably more involved then that but it was a point out of it. I was writing at the same time so hopefully I haven’t miss represented the movie but that’s something I noticed in it. The programmed girl on the movie trying to help save the world was designed to find dreamers. There was a large harvest field in the movie. Another interesting thing was this girl had a special pin given to her and with that pin she could transport into another world whenever she pressed on it.
I have dreams about war and terror often, it concerns me about the things that may happen with the actions of our world leaders and how helpless many can feel as the arguments go back and forth. I feel I see things that could happen if we keep going on that path. Again this is our human sin of anger and negativity that is propelling all this destructive action. Its not like this isn’t common sense or knowledge but I find it interesting how often things parallel in the spiritual and physical world through movies and art, etc.
There is an answer in the midst of that uncertainty and it is Jesus. What if he came back would we be ready? Would he find us doing the things he wanted us to be doing?
We can all use our thoughts and words more powerfully. Simple prayers can have power to change the world. Get into your running lanes and change the atmosphere with your declarations, pray for the world leaders. Pray for terrorists to have heavenly encounters that change their hearts.
In that movie I was watching it said “Find the ones who haven’t given up, they are the future” So we can’t give up when there is negativity in the world events and the situations we see around us we have to find ways to inspire each other.
I felt like I may have been told in my heart that I have one of those pins that the girl on the movie had, that maybe he can transport me into heavenly realities at anytime I as draw near to him. Will he do this in dreams or visions, in my imagination or in live encounters? And does he have one of those pins for you if you ask?
Jesus is looking for dreamers, will you be one?
