When someone famous moves their chess piece off the board of life, we all stop and take notice and reminisce of who they were and what they’ve done: but what about the teenagers in my town that I heard about the other week, how many people know their names and and care about their impact and stolen destinies cut short in defeat.
There is a war on minds,
An invisible fight.
In thoughts hidden from sight.
A war in words between friends and enemies.
The lies you hear or speak about that penetrates thoughts: infiltrating the next vulnerable mind, are you a murderer by your words: learn how to lift up and encourage, it doesn’t take much to be kind.
Don’t be overwhelmed by mental illness, don’t shy away in fear: the prescription is really simple and it’s all you need to hear.
Love the hurting, build them up and show them they have a special place; love wins over depression don’t listen to the lies that say: you are not qualified, just step out in faith and I will line them up: the ones to breath in new life.
In this article: http://www.rollingstone.com/ music/news/chris-cornells- wife-issues-statement-w483179 it suggests that the cause of Chris Cornell’s suicide was very likely the medication he had been prescribed to prevent suicidal thoughts. This is another example of what I have been trying to communicate to the mental health system these drugs are so dangerous and while some may debate that they help people I strongly disagree based on what I have seen and experienced they are not the answer.
